The short book meets its aim as a good, clear introduction to this issue from a firm, Christian viewpoint. It’s concise and readable, for teens upwards. However, the brevity may well leave questions in the reader’s mind, especially regarding the practical and pastoral out workings.
Written from both evangelical and medical perspectives, Yarhouse draws from his professional experience and the latest scientific research to offer a biblically informed framework for readers to understand and engage with a complex topic. Whilst more academic than the other publications, the facts are useful to have to grow in clarity and there are some helpful, practical ideas for the church’s response.
True to Form is a readable but in-depth look at gender and sexuality from a Christian point of view. It includes articles from different authors covering: a biblical theology of gender, biological difference, homosexuality, complementarity, gender dysphoria, the implications for medicine and education, and recommended resources on all of the above.
